Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Indonesia, Filomeno Aleixo da Cruz Timor-Leste and Indonesia Explore Cross-Border Economic Cooperation.
The relationship between Timor-Leste and Indonesian has been established for a long time. The country that shares Timor Island with Indonesia was once part of its huge neighbor. Timor-Leste became an independent country in 2002 following a referendum in 1999.
After that, the two countries worked together to build a good harmonious relationship, even though there have been many challenges as there were unresolved issues in the beginning.
Last July, the newly elected President of Timor-Leste Jose Ramos Horta visited Indonesia in an effort to enhance bilateral relationships.
He met with Indonesian President Joko Widodo and discussed many issues, including trade, investment, connectivity, development, and negotiations on border areas. To explain the efforts to enhance cooperation and bilateral relations between the two countries, the Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Indonesia Filomeno Aleixo da Cruz will be a guest on TEMPO TALKS
